Oak Lawn House & the Church at Monroe, Connecticut

This is the house my mother lived in as a little child and her mother before her  I was happy that I still remembered how to find it to show it to Nathan.  I
They say the house was used a a boarding school before my great-great-grandfather bought it with the farm in the late 1800s.
The story goes that my great-grandmother and great-great grandmother could not see eye to eye about cooking and the kitchen, so to make a more peaceful house there was a kitchen upstairs and downstairs.
It is so green now.  Some of my aunts' and mother's favorite stories are of snow!  They would sometimes exit their bedroom upstairs, ski off ot the porch roof and on to school.
This is Monroe Congregational Church, United Church of Chirst.  It is on the town square and was my family's church.  One day a young pastor who had graduated from Yale Divinity School came to pastor the church, and he married my grandmother.  It
